The Ramparts

Walking Palma’s medieval ramparts provides great views of sea, Parc del a Mer and the Cathedral. The enormous walls which date back to the Roman era are set high so they provide many beautiful vistas. Their colors and angular geometry provide for both great instagram opportunities and well as seemingly abstract photography.

From the ramparts is it easy to explore Old Town, the Cathedral, the Port and the coast line. Early morning provides tranquility and beautiful lighting for photos. Afternoons and evening provide hustle and bustle as some much life takes place in all of the adjoining areas.

Parc de la Mar

Between the Cathedral walls and the Sea, there is the Parc de la Mar.

A somewhat recent addition to Old Palma, the Parc de la Mar was constructed in the 1960’s when the highway was added. Previously the Cathedral directly overlooked the sea. With the addition of the bayside highway, the Parc de la Mar was constructed. The lake in the Parc is known for its tall fountain and its beautiful reflections of the Cathedral.

The Parc also included children’s play areas,, underground parking garage, and walking paths
